Nolan’s Inception Potential Supporting Cast

By Rodney - April 2, 2009 - 09:04 America/Montreal

Christopher Nolan opted to write and direct his own project Inception before considering his return to the Batman franchise which I think is very wise. Now all eyes are on his next film, and we don’t even know entirely what it will be about! All we know so far is that he has secured Leonardo DiCaprio to star. Not a bad move.

Now possibly joining DiCaprio will be Marion Cotillard, Cillian Murphy and Ellen Page.

Comingsoon Shares:

Warner Bros. is in talks with Marion Cotillard, Cillian Murphy and Ellen Page to join the cast of Inception, which Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight) wrote and will direct as his next film.

Leonardo DiCaprio has already been set to star. Production begins this summer for a July 16, 2010 release.

This is supposed to be a sci-fi action film set in the mind (Matrix?) but that’s all we get.

Nolan seems to have been blessed with the perception that he can do no wrong, so lets hope he lives up to it.

I’m so psyched for this movie. Nolan hasn’t let me down yet and I highly doubt that this movie won’t be amazing. After he fantastically pulled off his unorthodox casting in his Batman films I have complete trust in his decisions.
    Bring on 2010!

  2. Jeremy K. says:

Do not know much about Marion Cotillard, but I do see that she was in Big Fish which I really liked. However, I am a fan of Ellen Page and Cillian Murphy, so I can not see how this possible casting could be disappointing.

    • Lily says:

Marion won an Oscar for Best Actress in 2007 for “La Vie en Rose”, and she was damn well deserving of it!

Saying those four names makes me happy. Wouldn’t care what it was actually about, I’d go see a movie if it had those four up there in it.

yea nolan hasnt made a bad movie in my opinion…he seems to get better with every flick, been a huge fan of his since momento and insomnia. guy does great work….and ellen page is cute as hell.

oh and has anyone seen An American Crime? ellen page’s most haunting movie, check it out…

    • Jeremy K. says:

Ya, that movie was crazy. She knows how to pick her parts. Juno was funny and genuinely a good movie, but some of her lesser known movies shows some amazing acting from her that trumps her acting in Juno. Hard Candy was another good one.

    • chris....the real one says:

hard candy was fantastic. the pacing and everything was so meticulous, loved it

    • King Jonny says:

I saw An American Crime as well, and Ellen Page shows that she can act. She’s currently one of my favorite actresses and I think that she’ll bring a lot to the plate in Inception.

    • Mladen says:

I thought she was amazing in Hard Candy. Definately was a fan after that one… I’m prepared to forgive her for X-men 3.

  4. 3R!C says:

Cillian Murphy again? Is this guy going to be in every Nolan film from now on?

    • Governor says:

A lot of directors regularly team up with actors whom they enjoyed working with. It’s not unusual at all.

    • krazie835 says:

      LOL @ 3R!C.

Cillian has been in a whopping two films that have been directed by Nolan and the second film he barely had any screen time.

    • Jeremy K. says:

OMG, and Christian Bale in both Batman and The Prestige! WTF! :D

    • Jeremy K. says:

If we see Guy Pearce in another Nolan movie, I am calling conspiracy!

    • 1-7 says:

      It’s a trap!

    • chris....the real one says:

and michael caine…jeebus nolan, what are u up to

    • BookWorm says:

It’s all coming together now! Burton secretly died and reincarnated as Nolan! Now he’s on the search for his new Johnny Depp! Nothing will stand in his way!

    • Jeremy K. says:

Haha, I got that Tim Burton connection thinking going at first as well. Oddly, I can totally picture Cillian Murphy as Nolan’s Depp.

    • 3R!C says:

This is one mystery, I’m sure not even the Dark Knight himself or the Boy Wonder could solve!

  5. 1-7 says:

Nolan’s one of the best living directors and my personal favorite director. This is shaping up to be an awesome looking (sounding?) movie.

  6. Prototype says:

I absolutely love Nolan’s films and I have high hopes for Inception.
His works are so nuanced and layered, I always spot something new when I’m watching them. Like in The Dark Knight where the Joker is in the nurse’s outfit and he’s ironically wearing an “I Believe in Harvey Dent” button. Also, watching The Prestige over and realizing the film is staged like a three act magic trick.
This cast is exceptionally talented and I expect nothing but greatness from Nolan.

    • SlashBeast says:

      SPOILER ALERT!!!

      You want to test yourself?
Watch The Prestige and try figuring out which brother is in which scene.

    • chris....the real one says:

lol i did the same thing my third viewing….

  7. Matt says:

Nolan is great director. Not shocking at all that he got DiCaprio to star in his new movie. Batman catapulted his Hollywood street cred to top levels. He will be able to do anything he wants

  8. leeloo says:

    cast is awesome.
who doesnt wanna work with nolan?
leo flicks with nolan and scorsese coming up = !!!

    and i loooove the prestige.

  9. Meli says:

It is amazing how a well respected director can give only a title and a vague idead of what his next movie will be and the fans are jumping up and down with excitement. I admit I am one of these fans. I’ve not been disappointed in a Nolan film, so I see no reason not to assume this movie will dazzle me. I look forward to the movie development and this potential supporting cast is a good beginning.

  10. EZELL says:

I am gods gift to woman and Nolan is gods gift to the film industry

  11. Dragonslayer says:

Please do this, Ellen Page. PLEASE
