Little Shop Of Horrors Remake
In any of its incarnations, be it one of the screen versions or the stage, Little Shop of Horrors has always been one of those delightful little stories that I’ve loved. Sure the Roger Corman one is a classic… but even throw in the one with Rick Moranis and I’m a totally happy camper.
Anyway, it should come as no surprise in this remake frenzied world that it appears a Little Shop of Horrors remake is indeed in the works. The good folks over at ComingSoon give us these details:
Roger Corman’s 1960 comedy The Little Shop of Horror is being updated by director Declan O’Brien (upcoming Wrong Turn 3). “I just optioned the remake rights,” told the site. “We’re going to set that up as a studio feature.” The director is going to be shepherded by Corman and The Bourne Identity producer Andrew Tennenbaum.
Can a remade project like Little Shop of Horrors actually work in the theatrical environment we have today? To be frank I’m not convinced. Still… I’ll be there to see it no matter how bad it turns out.
i liked the one w/ rick maronis, but to be honest i dont know about this maybe after seeing a trailer or something i could make a better observation
This will be brilliant if they do it similarly to the moranis version! “FEED ME SEYMOUR!” Hell yeah.

Haha, for some that would be a point for a remake, where others it would a point against a remake. I would have to go with against, I do not see how “the story would benefit from a modern telling”.
Alright, so I am definitely interested in this. I can only hope they do the original justice because God I love Rick Moranis!
I’m sure the idea is to have Audrey II to be mostly CGI. It might be interesting to see, but I don’t want the singing people eating plant to lose its magic. That’s the *only* one of two reservations I have here.
The original Corman film (sorry Ryan) was remade into a musical, then remade into the 1986 film. Right now, the musical-dance genre is “in”, so it isn’t a surprise and it’s been done before. In addition, it has name value, it crosses over genres (musical, comedy-satire, sci-fi) and I can see it happening,

No joke, you think they would have learned after making the first wrong turn! :D
the only thing good about “Wrong Turn” was Eliza Duschku
And because this is the internet and sometimes sarcasm is missed. What I said was a joke, and play on words. Now, I did not say it was a very good joke, but a joke none the less.
The female lead in the 1986 version, Ellen Greene, was amazing… her rendition of “Suddenly Seymour” gave me chills.
Really not sure it needs a remake, but thanks for reminding me that I love this film!
Everybody’s talking like he is re-making the musical. I believe he is re-making the 1960 Corman film.
Perhaps they can get Jack Nicholson to reprise his dentist role.

you can complain all you want, remakes make money and as long as they do hollywood is gonna keep making them besides its not like they get rid of the older version, so no matter how bad this film might be(not saying it will be bad) we still have the original

I can’t tell if this is awesome or terrible.
Is this a remake of the original story or the musical. I’m not sure about a remake of the original movie (B movie remakes don’t work as well now) but if they remake the musical and include the same songs then I would be all for it.
If they do remake the original B movie, will they make it a serious horror film or keep the dark humor?
It’s not going to be a musical, or comedy. It is going to be a dark horror film.
My school is doing this play. its our first big production ever. im not in it im in a different play.
i do love the music thow i hear it in the mornings, and i think its an interesting plot
