Kristen Bell Joins “You Again”

By John - April 14, 2009 - 21:37 America/Montreal

One of the most beautiful actresses in Hollywood right now and star of one of last years best comedies (Forgetting Sarah Marshall), Kristen Bell has just signed on to star in the new Disney film “You Again”. Andy Fickman (who just directed another Disney film “Race to Witch Mountain”) is helming the project.

The good folks over at IESB give us this:

(The) Actress will play a girl who is horrified to find that her brother is marrying the very girl who made her life a living hell in high school.

I really like Kristen Bell… but I have to admit that I’m not sure if I like her for her personality and charm… or for her talent. To be honest I’m not sure yet if she’s a real talent or not. I’ve liked her on the TV show “Heroes”, and I adored her in Sarah Marshall… but let’s be honest… neither of those were exactly demanding roles. Still, her sheer “cuteness” is enough to interest me in any light role she’s playing.

Hmm… well of course her most memorable role ever was in Veronica Mars where she played the titled character. Although this Disney family/comedy flick seems a bit outside of her comfort zone, I think she’ll do just fine. She’s shown comedic timing and wit in Veronica Mars and even though she’s not an Oscar-caliber actress, she has what it takes to easily hold her own in anything she does.

I missed Veronica Mars when it was shown on T.V., but have since been getting the DVDs on Netflix. I must admit, that show was really entertaining. The season two finale was crazy and showed just how much thought and planning was going into the series. I am currently on season three now, and already dreading the end of the show even though it ended a couple years ago. I read recently that they had planned to take the show through her the rest of her college years and into the FBI, which would have been amazing. Doing an entire series that takes a person from their high school years all the way into a FBI crime drama would have been awesome.

After watching Veronica Mars and seeing her in Heroes and Forgetting Sarah Marshall, I am to watching anything with her in it. Even if the movie sucks, I will be there in support of her.

The premise reminds me of Mr. Woodcock.

I’m with Rob on this one.
Her best talent was shown on Veronica Mars, and while she can hold her own on other projects, I don’t think she’s using her talent to its full potential. At this point in time, she’s not Oscar winner material, but I think she could be if she tried.

I agreed with you at first, but then i remembered a very demanding role she played not to long ago that showcased her talent very well. Reefer Madness, a 1936 classic black & white movie that was remade into a musical by the Showtime network in 2005 (well it was on and off Broadway first). If you haven’t seen it, you should check it out.

    I’ll watch anything she does.

She had a one or two episode arc in Deadwood. She was a hooker/con man. She was pretty fucking awesome.

On board here. I’d tune into a dog food commercial with her in it. Biased, hell yes!

The girl’s very talented. She looks cute and harmless but she can make a killer delivery. What I love about her in veronica mars is that she can play the character tough and sarcastic but vulnerable at the same time.
