Britney Murphy and David Zayas join The Expendables

By Rodney - April 9, 2009 - 11:07 America/Montreal

It seems every time we hear about the Expendables, its to announce more additions to the cast.

Now Brittany Murphy will be joining to add a musical number, and since the whole plot of the movie is to overthrow a dictator, why not cast one! David Zayas will be taking on that role.

Coming soon shares:

Brittany Murphy and David Zayas have joined the cast of The Expendables, Sylvester Stallone’s action-adventure being produced by Nu Image/Millennium Films, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Murphy will play Rourke’s girlfriend, a singer. The part calls for her to perform a musical number. Zayas will play the dictator.

I am looking forward to this, but they are adding cast members and if I am not mistaken they have already started shooting. They did all this without even casting the antagonist of the film?

We all know that the deep plot of this movie will be secondary to all the juicy action, but really, it took this long before casting the dictator?

As Great of a film Rambo Was, maybe The Expendables Can be as good or even better. Personal Opinion, Given that the cast has “Macho” Action Guys, Would You Not Agree John Campea?

  2. Jake says:

I am so excited about The Expendables. The cast alone makes it appealing.

This will be a must see film for anyone who grew up in the 80’s.
Murphy’s career has been on the down as she’s starring in a Lifetime movie this weekend. She had a nice run though.

Can anyone explain why she now speaks with a British accent? Is this another Madonna thing?

I’m still really looking forward to this, but am I the only one concerned about a “musical number.” I’m not going to a movie like this for song and dance. Just sayin.

  7. Jeremy K. says:

As long as her character is as awesome as it was in Spun, I’ll be happy.

What happened to Britney? For awhile there she was the it girl and just kinda faded away, glad to see this little cutiepie making a comeback!
