Terry Crews Rapidly Replaces 50Cent in Expendables

With a collective sigh of relief and a mass wiping of brows, Stallone announces that 50Cent is now off Expendables and will be replaced by Terry Crews. I was originally puzzled as to why Stallone would include Curtis Jackson in his film, but it seems that he might have lost a game of poker or something, but he is clear of it now, turfing “Fiddy” and bringing in an actor instead.

MovieWeb shares:

The news came from Sylvester Stallone himself. There was no stated reason for 50 Cent’s sudden departure from the film, but Stallone seemed quite enthusiastic about Crews’ participation. In recent years, Crews has starred in Balls of Fury and Get Smart, with a reoccurring role as Chris Rock’s dad on Everybody Hates Chris.

Crews has a long list of experience in supporting roles, and though I don’t feel he could carry a film on his own he will be a fine addition to this ensemble cast.

He doesn’t fit that “legendary action star” moniker that seems to at least drift within arms reach of these participants, but at least he is an actor who has proven himself a number of times long after his previous career as a professional athlete.

I thought Crews was great in The Longest Yard (appropriately cast as a football player) as Cheeseburger Eddy. Hopefully he brings something unique to the Expendables too.

  3. Marco says:

What great news! Terry Crews is a scary-ass guy but has a lot of charisma. He was great in White Chicks. Also, who can forget President Camacho?

  4. bigsampson says:

lol president camacho was awesome…but he also had was really good in that movie with keanu reeves…where he was the good cop that got killed….after i seen that i noticed , hey this guy actually has good acting skills for certain parts….im so glad they got him and kicked out fiddy….fiddy sucks at acting but the guy can make a mean hook for a dance song.

  5. Anti-Septic says:

Terry Crews is very underrated! The guy can be scary as shit, yet make you laugh your ass off. A great addition to the cast and especially replacing 50 Cent aka (Curtis Jackson).

Bravo Stallone, way to step up!

  6. OMAR says:

50CENT MADE AND STILL MAKES NO SENSE! he is not any bit viable as an actor let alone at times a rapper. I would have prefered Ving Rhanes cause he fits more with in the Age Category of all the actors in the movie, him or Jim Brown…

    • chris....the real one says:

well its over now, hes replaced, chill out. stallone wanted a big strong black guy for a small role and 50 fit the bill…but he found a bigger, blacker, stronger man to replace him

    • Matt K says:

      chris,

not to mention that terry is actually an actor unlike “50 cent”

    • chris....the real one says:

sigh, this isnt the 1st time a music person has been offered a role in a movie and wont be the last, some of u guys got really worked up over this cuz it was 50. i didnt think he was that bad in get rich or die trying. and i dont think any of us expect great acting in this flick

    • chris....the real one says:

im not a fan of 50, actor or rapper, but the kind of movie this seems to be i wasnt to bothered by the casting choice

  7. shadess says:

  8. Vidsub says:

He was the funniest part of Click

  9. David Lopan says:

I wasn’t even aware that 50 Cent was involved in this project. I’m so glad he’s been dropped though. Stallone is seriously making a monster of a film and I’m really looking forward to it.

  10. alfie says:

yeah i mean 50 lack of acting chops were really going to drag down the master thespians in this film

  11. Meli says:

My anticipation for this flim is back up actually a little more because I really like Terry Crews.

  12. Stick it in Detroit says:

I was planing on not watching that because of 50cent. Thank God!

  13. Mark says:

have i missed something,is sly remaking gone with the wind,is he remaking the ten commandments, maybe hes remaking a street car named desire, what about on the water front?

no hes making a film that as far as i can tell is leaning more towards action than dramatic.

sly, eric roberts, dolph lundgren and even jason stathom are hardly modern day brandos so why the big fuss over the casting of 50 cent?

lets be honest here, its a movie jam packed full of average actors, was 50 really gonna damage it that much.

    • Rodney says:

And yet despite being such a low brow simple action film that Sly is making, 50Cent still falls short.

The fuss is that Curtis Jackson is a fabricated rap artist and nothing more. At least Sly is putting action actors in this. 50 would be stunt casting and nothing more.

I am glad the offer lasted all of 72 hours.

    • bigsampson says:

well the fuss is scroll up for more info on every ones comments lol

    • chris....the real one says:

      i agree with mark

    • Anti-Septic says:

I agree with Rodney, Curtis Jackson is a fabricated rap artist and nothing more. Can’t really add anything to this comment, pretty much says it all.

  14. alfie says:

50 cent would be stunt casting??

ummm this entire film is built around stunt casting

  15. Patrick says:

    I’m glad that this happened.

  16. Mark says:

stunt casting,a film whose cast includes dolph lundgren, and possibly steve austin and Schwarzenegger.

    ill say it again,Schwarzenegger,and again,Schwarzenegger.

and one of your problems with casting 50 cent is it would be stunt casting..

its beyond rediculous rodney,it really is.
