The Love Guru Leads the Razzies Preview Image

The Razzies are not just the Anti-Oscars, but it is a celebration of the bad. It goes one step farther than just informing you of juse how bad some films were, but it relishes in it adding another layer of mockery to the already squirming celebrities who participated in the nominated productions.

I came across a list of the nominations thanks to FilmJunk. and it looks like The Love Guru is leading in suck.

* In The Name Of The King:A Dungeon Siege Tale
* The Love Guru

For the most part I agree with the un-accolades these films are getting however I didn’t find Dungeon Seige to be that terrible. Wasn’t awesome, but still not really that bad. However it is no surprise that the Razzies are jumping at the chance to mock Mike Myers. If it was just another bad movie no one would really react, however, after so many years of success it is a might big step down for him with the poor showing with the Love Guru. And it was a freefall for the beloved Canadian comedian.

You can check out all the nominations at The Razzies Official Website.

Any legitimately bad movies that you think they missed? How do you feel about the nominations?

  1. John says:

Who would have thought we’d ever see the day where Al Pacino gets nominated for a Razzie. But hell… he deserves it.

  2. EricD says:

Your link to the Razzie home site is broken.

  3. Seth Rex says:

For worst actress, I would have Paris Hilton win it. She’s worse than Alba.

  4. stormlight says:

I actually think Uwe Boll doesn’t deserve to be on the worst director list.

Postal was pretty damn good (especially considering the source material) and was pretty well shot.

And I hear Tunnel Rats is well shot too.

He’s actually improving as a director. And before the hate starts to pour on me for saying that, I absolutely LOATHE House of the Dead and couldn’t even finish watching Alone in the Dark.

Those idiots that made Meet the Spartans however should win the award and then have their sorry asses shot for making absolute trash for no reason other than greed and greed alone.

  5. leeloo says:

i havent seen any of these movies.
    now i know why.

  6. JohnZDelorean says:

I hope that they just listed all the movies the actor was in 08 because Ben Kingsley in The Wackness should’ve got some Supporting Actor love and the film itself is to describe it in a word I’m not used to saying “charming”. The actress category includes the worst working actress’ ever in Jessica Alba, Cameron Diaz and Kate Hudson. A Razzie win should put you on suspension in the Actors Guild for a year.

  7. 3R!C says:

LOL! Marky Mark! The Happening was a pretty weird movie. His character was very soft spoken in this film, which I found kinda funny!

  8. AARON says:

The Love Guru didn’t make me smile ONCE

  9. THE FOOL ON THE HILL 3.11 says:

I saw The Love Guru last night, now I understand why. Haven’t seen Disaster Movie and don’t feel like seein’ it, if you watch the trailer you can tell it’s horrible.

Have seen scenes from Meet the Spartans and that was quite enough.

I don’t think 88 Min should be there, it wasn’t great and all but there were even worse movies than that.

  10. Greg says:

I didn’t think The Love Guru was that bad. I mean, it was bad, but not worst film of the year bad. Righteous Kill was much worse.

  11. hiland says:

same movies get nominated over and over in each catogroey. They should list expand more movies in each section.

  12. john says:

Eddie Murphy was pretty awsome in Meet Dave. That movie is so underrated

    • kiyo says:

hey, if you say so. but i still have no interest in seeing it and will gladly remain in the dark with respect to this “underrated” performance. eddie murphy has sucked for a long time and has just become painfully unfunny
