The Movie Blog: Uncut LIVE - Recorded July 21st 2008

Hey there guys. Here is the Live show that we recorded yesterday. As you can see we’re now doing things with LiveVideo.Com and we’re still working some bugs out. The green screen stage looks stupid as hell… but we’re only using that while they install new track curtaining in the studio sometime in the next 2 weeks.

Doing the show was a lot of fun and there is a LOT of Dark Knight chat. Check it out:

    Hey Eric,

For Sex and the City I was talking about opening weekend numbers. Pay attention next time to what the topic is.

For the death of Robin… opppss.. I accidentally named the wrong title. Sue me.

Since it was a topic brought up by a question on the board I didn’t “research it”. I’d like to see how many mistakes you make if you did a live show where you had to know everything off the top of your head.

The show is not, nor is it ever “researched”. It’s a conversation podcast, not a news show.

Wow, I don’t think I’ve seen a podcast/videocast with so much misinformation in quite awhile. In your first few minutes, you guys manage to botch a dozen different movie facts. Do you bother doing any research at all, or do you just make this stuff up as you go along? FYI, “Sex and the City” has earned well over $150 million domestically, not $50 million as you state. And Robin (Jason Todd) did not die in “The Killing Joke”… nor was he killed with a pipe. He died in a storyline called “A Death in the Family” and he was ultimately killed by a bomb. He was beaten by the Joker with a pipe in that storyline, but this was not the cause of his death. As for the production budget of “The Dark Knight,” it is between $180-182 million. I’m surprised you didn’t know that. But at least you didn’t just make up a number. Given how far off base you were on most other topics, I suppose I should be impressed by that.

I imagine they will bring The Joker back eventually but I will bet you anything that they will not include him in the next film.

I want Sean Penn as riddler in the next one.
