Boondock Saints 2 Announced (again)
Well it appears after much back and forth that a Boondock Saints sequel may actually happen. We get the scoop from our friends at cinematical:
According to The Hollywood Reporter, which reports on things from Hollywood, “principal photography has started in Toronto on Troy Duffy’s sequel to the 2000 indie.” Yes, Norman Reedus and Sean Patrick Flanery are coming back to reprise their roles. Also back on board are Billy Connolly and David Della Rocco. Other cast members will include Clifton Collins, Julie Benz, and Bob Marley.
Apparently Overnight the documentary that shows the making of the Boondock Saints is better than the film itself. Boondock was a great film that flew under the radar but slowly built up rep and success on word of mouth and recommendations from one buddy to another. My buddy Bill is the one who first told me about it.
Hopefully this announcement turns out to be true this time. Over the years we have heard that this is on again, off again, and now, with luck the project will stay on and give fans of the film the highly anticipated sequel.

this thing had been stuck in development hell because of a law suit. duffy has been fighting the studio for years, i remember a myspace video message from near a year ago maybe, that they were getting close to resolving things. so hopefully this is real, hopefully it will be worthy enough to have the boondock name on it. i can’t freakin’ wait!
Really? People are excited about this? I thought BS was laugh-out-loud awful.
Anyone who likes TBS or is interested in indie filmmaking in general should check out Overnight, it`s easily the best movie-related documentary i`ve seen and yes, that includes heart of darkness.
i gotta agree w/ omaha overnight was a GREAT doc…it truly captures what happens when fame gets to you
overnight is great its 100 times better than Saint which frankly kinda sucked
what about Willem Dafoe?
the name that stuck out to me the most was Bob Marley. Who the fuck is Bob Marley besides the deceased reggae king?!
overnight is about the BS director and how much of an asshole he is right?
They’ve already started filming or are at least on location.

they should NOT be making a sequel to this. I loved Boondock Saints, but it just doesn’t warrant a sequel.

Can’t wait for this. The first is one of my all-time favorite movies.
I have to agree with Ross, Boondock Saints was a good movie, but I don’t know what to expect for a sequel, expecially this long after the first.
This has been shooting in Toronto since Oct. 20th and looks good so far.
