Sam Darko Pic

By Doug - October 31, 2008 - 07:38 America/Montreal

We have a sneak peek of Sam Darko for you today thanks to an exclusive from our friends over at moviesonline.

1598 Samdarko

I am not looking forward to this film. I join the majority in saying that Darko should be done at one. Having a sequel seems to be a terrible idea and I feel another Blair Witch 2 coming on.

I will say this however. I like that dress, it mimics the scaled body of a mermaid and is very fetching in a Live Action Role Playing sort of way.

  2. aaron says:

and “sam darko”? that’s an extreme “Donnie Darko” rip off

  3. spence says:

this makes me sick. I love Donnie Darko, this movie shouldn’t happen ever.

  4. Rodney says:

@Aaron, you do realize that this is a sequel to Donnie Darko. Its not a ripoff if you are playing the title character in a sequel.

Sam is Donnie’s younger sister. Am I ripping off my siblings by using THEIR last name?? Just sayin.

I agree that Darko should stand alone. However I do like this actress and she did well in Big Love, so at very least I wonder what will become of her after this.

  5. aaron says:

lol i know. once i said that i was like “oh crap its the sequel” i don’t really know darko that well. but yeah..it looks eh

  6. THE FOOL ON THE HILL says:

Like I’ve said before, they’ve developed a nasty habit in making sequels to anything and everything that could bring some significant gross revenue.
Donnie Dark is a cult classic and shouldn’t be toyed with. By looking at that poster I’m thinking, what da hell is this? a horror picture? Carrie 3?

My curiosity is piqued. I fully enjoyed the world that was Donnie Darko, so it will be interesting if another director can mimic or build upon that world in an interesting way. I would be concerned about changing directors; however, after seeing Southland Tales, I am more concerned with Kelly’s sanity to make another Darko and not mess it up. Hopefully Southland Tales was just piece of human nature, and that little black blip on his radar gets over shadowed by a good movie with his next directorial outing.

    DONNIE would dissaprove

  9. Patrick says:

One thing and one thing only made Donnie Darko what as it was - Jake Gyllenhaal’s gloomy glare. It set the tone for the entire movie. Simple gloom and darkness simply won’t replicate the tone. Without that tone, it won’t become a cult classic.

  10. Jeremy says:

    @ PATRICK

I disagree, he was definitely a huge part of it. That was the first time I had seen the guy act, and damn he did an awesome job. But I also think that the music, 80’s references, and characters made it what it was. I mean come on, you can not disagree that seeing Patric Swayze being head of a child porn ring was not creepy and awesomely well casted in and of itself. And do not leave out Frank, that costume was awesome and every scene with him was quite intriguing.

  11. aaronk says:

this is a bad idea, but every once in a while the right director can at least make a project like this interesting. it still might not be good, but it could be somewhat enjoyable?

  12. David Lopan says:

So this is for real? It isn’t a joke? When I first heard about it, I thought it was a joke.
