Eric Bana Set To Suit Up For Armored

We have word today that the french film Le Convoyeur is going to enter the Hollywood remake machine with Eric Bana set to star as the lead. We get wind of this news thanks to our good friends over at the movieweb:
Millennium Films is remaking the 2004 French heist drama Le Convoyeur, retitled to Armored, with Eric Bana in talks to star and F. Gary Gray attached to direct.
According to Variety, the drama is scripted by David Ayer and Andrew Kevin Walker and relocated to Michigan. The story follows a man who takes a job for an armored car company and ingratiates himself with his co-workers, who trust him enough to make him part of their heist plans. Unbeknown to his colleagues, the man had his own motives for taking the job.
A good heist movie can hit the spot every now and again, and stories about employes that do the job themselves is always a welcome angle in my books. I don’t love Eric Bana, but am never disappointed to hear his name. I consider him to be a a quality “jobber” to use a wrestling term.
I am interested if any of you have had the chance to see the original. If any of our Francophone friends may share with us their thought on the original - I would be very appreciative. Merci.
Eric Bana is no Brooklyn Brawler or Iron Mike Sharpe my friend. He’s more like Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka!
The Brooklyn Brawler was awesome.
That sounds rather lame considering this was just made: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0913354/
I haven’t seen the original, but if Millenium Films is making it, it’ll probably be shit. They have a BAD track record.

You could’ve stopped at Wicker Man remake.
Why are they calling it ‘Armored’ when there is already a movie with that title coming out soon?
They couldn’t think of anything else?
PS… there really should be a ‘u’ in there…
I think Eric Bana is a great actor (incredible in Troy) but he’s not my favorite
Hello, I’m French and I saw Le Convoyeur. I loved it. I won’t tell you what’s the hero’s motive but it’s a powerful movie, with a very unic pace. There’s something oppressing in the story and a final climax (when you get to understand everything). It’s a film noir with action sequences and a lot of emotion. I think Bana will be great for the job.
