So Which One Of The 8 Iron Man DVD Versions Do You Want
Iron Man comes out on DVD today (I already got my copy) and I’m sure it’s going to be a big hit… all 8+ versions of it that you can grab. This is getting a little out of hand.
It seems that the studio cuts special deals with a ton of retail stores to give them each “EXCLUSIVE” versions of the DVDs to sell to their customers. My friend Brad over at RopeofSilicon put together just a short summary for you:
1. Circuit City - Access to exclusive Marvel Digital Comics featuring the artwork of Adi Granov.
2. Best Buy - Custom Lithograph created by Marvel artist Gerald Parel.
3. Target - Target Deluxe Edition includes exclusive Mark III mask packaging. Available on both the Ultimate 2-Disc Edition and 2-Disc Blu-ray.
4. Costco - Giftset includes the Ultimate 2 Disc Edition DVD and 3 Iron Man Bobbleheads, with all 3 Iron Man suits from the film. Giftset includes the “Battle Damaged Mark II”, available exclusively in this giftset at Costco.
5. Walmart - Two exclusive SKUs. Ultimate 2 Disc Edition packed with an exclusive comic book chronicling the Nick Fury story. The single disc giftset is packed with the 1st episode of the new Iron Man animated series.
6. Kmart & Sears - Save $5 on the Ultimate 2 Disc edition with any $25 Craftsman purchase.
7. Trans World - FYE and Suncoast Exclusive Steelbook Package available on the Ultimate 2- disc Edition. (pictured above, left)
8. Borders - On pack collectible book featuring original sketches by Bob Layton and the top 24 comic cover of Iron Man.
So if you’re a HUGE Iron Man Fan and want to collect all the various editions of the DVD… I hope you’ve got $300 in your pocket you weren’t planning on using on strippers later. Oh who are we kidding… we both know you were planning on using it on strippers. Have fun.
All I need is the damn movie. That other crap is irrelevant to me.
Costco one looks appealing
i got mine at my job (Circuit Shitty) on blu-ray but now i want the one at Target.

In the UK we don’t get the film for another month but our various stores all have exclusives like the Iron Man mask shaped box. I’ve ordered the steelbook version. I love those steelbooks; so hard for my dog to chew them.

I bought mine today at Future Shop, Its the 2 Disc Special Edition in a Steelbook casing
i wonder how many diffrent version the dark knight will get…..
im getting the single disk version @ circuit city, bonus material for this movie doesnt interest me, but ill gladly buy a 6 disk version for TDK….

i was thinking of the exact same thing. I saw a couple of pics for TKD, one which includes batmans miniature motorcycle as a collectible, a 3-disc special edition. I imagine much much more other versions
The “I Am Iron Man” doc is amazing. Its better than the Return of the Sith doc.

I got this version from Best Buy Canada.
Hasn’t arrived yet. It’s the Blu-Ray version with a mini helmet bust and comic book and a $50 gift card.

I guess I’m in the minority here thinking this is ridiculous. I’m all for special edition dvd’s, but this seems kinda dick to me. We’re on the brink of an economic meltdown and they dangle all these different versions in fron ot us? Who has the extra cash to buy all these?

This crap needs to stop! Just release it with a single DVD version and a single Blu_Ray version.
I got the Blockbuster version…does anyone know if the other versions (BB has been releasing stripped-down naked copies recently of movies and it pisses me off) have a commentary?
Just finished the movie not 5 minutes ago….the first half of the movie is dryyyyyy….but about halfway through it gets really good. Very good movie overall, enjoyed it a lot.
Picked up the single disc version, the cover kicks ass over the 2 disc version, and I’m not paying 10 extra bucks for bonus features…
Not going to buy Iron Man… but if i did i’ll get it on Blu-ray or download it on the PSN video store.
