John Cusack Joins 2012

John Cusack 1News has been thrust upon us stating that John Cusack has joined Roland Emmerich’s apocalyptic sci-fi film 2012. We get the skinny from our friends at slashfilm:

John Cusack and Chiwetel Ejiofor (Redbelt) have been cast in Roland Emmerich’s sci-fi summer blockbuster movie 2012. An academic researcher opens a portal into a parallel universe and makes contact with his double in order to prevent an apocalypse predicted by the ancient Mayans. December 21st 2012 is the last day of the Mayan calendar, believed to be the end of the world.

Roland Emmerich is responsible for more shit than gold….but the dude directed Stargate - and that movie was bitchin’. The man knows how to spin a tale about alternate dimensions, and with luck, this project will be a return to form. A film about a neigh apocalypse will always pique my interest, so I will be sure to keep my head to the ground for further details.

The addition of Cusack is never usually a bad sign, and with luck the story will be as good as the idea sounds.
