It looks like Harrison Ford is not opposed to the idea of another Indiana Jones picture, as long as it happens pronto. We get wind of this delightful news thanks to the good people over at moviehole:

Though the most likely possibility is Shia LaBeouf carrying on the series, “Indiana Jones” star Harrison Ford tells USA Today that “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” might not be the character’s final film appearance - if George Lucas and Steven Spielberg can get get their asses in gear and have a fifth “Indiana Jones” film ready soon - rather than in another twenty years - Ford says he’d consider playing the Man in the Hat again.

Ford tells the stone tablet that Indiana Jones, as a character, hasn’t changed much since we first met him in 1982. “He’s a guy who is pretty clear from the beginning,” the actor says. “He has not changed so much between films. But we’ve learned more about him, through various plot devices, such as the introduction of his father. And we’ll learn something more about him in this film. I think it’s required. If you’re going to bring back a character, you’ll have to supply the audience with something more and different.”

Do it up! I am game for more Indy Action; as long as the stories are good - why not. This character is a legendary explorer, and this type of work lends itself to countless stories of adventure without tiring out a series. You assume Indy has been on countless adventures; to see a window into many of them - simply fleshes out your imagination.

Harrison is no idiot and knows that he’s approaching an age where he would rather be drinking in a lawn chair than working. Wisely, he lets it known that he will do more films - but they have to be done asap. Hopefully this carrot on a string will get Spielberg and Lucas in gear to do another film shortly. If the numbers are as big as I think they will be for this picture, I reckon it is safe to say that we can expect at least one more outing. Godspeed Indy, godspeed.
