Attack of the Killer Tomatoes Remake

Attack of the Killer Tomatoes is probably the poster child… nay… the flag ship movie of films that are so bad we love them! Just the title alone is worth of song and glory! And the funny thing is, for such a small, terrible (hilariously so) movie, almost everyone on the planet has heard the name. Well it appears if the “Ask A Ninja” guys have anything to say about it, you’ll be hearing the name a lot more as they’re aiming to bring us an Attack of the Killer Tomatoes remake!

The good folks over at Yahoo give us this:

Kent Nichols and Douglas Sarine, creators of the hit Web series “Ask a Ninja,” are writing an adaptation of the 1978 opus, with Nichols set to make his directorial debut. Attack of the Killer Tomatoes! is the masterwork of a generation,” Nichols said. “We can only aspire to recapture that magic.” No changes to the original plot have been revealed, but it still is expected to revolve around genetically altered tomatoes on the warpath.

I have a feeling that even the most die hard opponents to the notion of “remakes” will open their hearts to this idea. Not only because it’s Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, but also (and maybe mainly) because it’s being cooked up by the Ninja guys. Ask a Ninja is probably one of the funniest thing to hit the interweb since that dancing Jean Claude Van Damne clips from Breakin 2 Electric Bogagloo.

I actually didn’t like Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. Most of the jokes fell flat for me.

On the other hand, I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Return of the Killer Tomatoes.

Attack of the Killer Tomatoes is a childhood favorite of mine! Oh, even as a kid I could how horrendously bad this movie was, but yet still enjoyed it every time it hit the TV.

I’d also be in a favor of a remake …especially since it’s not Bay’s company getting a hold of it!

I’m with you NBA… Return RULED. That, and Cannibal Women In The Avacado Jungle Of Death. I had a big crush on Karen Mistal when I was young….

This new layout sucks balls. Or it could be that I hate change.

When TMB changed the layout last time, I couldn’t stand it and had to stop visiting the site because it was just frustrating to navigate. Having to click on every article just to get the last few sentences enraged me! The beautiful thing about TMB is that it’s so simple to look at it. You don’t have to look at a million frames or toolbars to get the information you want. When you open up the site on your browser, “BAM!” everything is just there and all you have to do is scroll down with your mouse wheel. Brilliant right? I was the happiest camper ever when they decided to go back to the original layout.

Now they’ve changed the layout again. I could care less about all the fancy click throughs on the right hand side. Or how professional it looks now (look at AICN). All that stuff is great, and I think it makes this site better. The only thing that really gets on my nerves and will ultimately force me to leave is having to click on an article to get the full story. This really blows, especially if you have a lousy internet connection (your mobile phone or when you’re downloading heavily).

I’m ok with you keeping the all the fancy new stuff on the side, but please include the full article on the home page.

    Who agrees with me?

    I do Chung Lee :)

New layout is awesome! Loads so fast! So much faster to find the posts I’m interested in! As far as clicking goes, even on the old design if I wanted to leave a comment I had to click anyway. This is MUCH better!

Not feeling the new layout either. It makes it look more like a news site and less like a blog

I like the old layout much better.

Or at least do what the other dude said, and leave the full articles viewable. It really is a pain in the ass to click on the article to get the whole thing.

Also, the poster of the article and the comments should be mentioned at the BOTTOM of each article, not the the top…it’s really confusing, especially when the old style was Poster/Comments at the bottom of the article.

Full articles viewable would be nice. Although less clutter on the left side is a positive. Seems more streamlined. Back to the topic at hand, The Killer Tomatoes. I’m waiting for Ed Wood’s classic Glen or Glenda to be remade. I see Seth Rogen in the dual role.

If this layout is going to be your new layout, at least make the article pictures clickable.

    Please?

What is this? An article about Attack of the Killer Tomatoes or the new layout?

Anyway. I hope they go the same route that Matt and Trey did with Team America, basically taking the piss out of Michael Bay movies.
The original was spoofing a genre, just like Airplane and did it pretty well. I hope to god that these guys don’t go the Meet the Spartans route in way of making spoof movies.
