New Iron Man Trailer - HOLY @$%&^%#!

I’ve said it a thousand times but I’ll repeat it once more. When they first announced the new Iron Man movie, I thought it was a stupid idea. I don’t care about Iron Man, and quite frankly I think he’s a bit of a lame comic book character. But over the last year I’ve slowly began to get won over with the studio apparently making all the right decisions about for this movie. From casting, director, visual effects company… you name it.

The first trailer came out and it was really good. Now this new trailer is here… and it rocks my bloody world. Holy shit this thing looks fantastic. Check it out! (thanks to Ty for the heads up)

I love it a lot better than the previous two.
    A lot better.

this is the best trailer by far.
Iron Man will be great we all know it.

  • 3. DON replies at 28th February 2008, 7:59 pm :

aside from the meh music I really really liked that trailer. This seems to have a shit load of amazing action and sfx and I am pretty sure that it won’t not be a great dark and mature comic book movie like BB but it will be a very entertaining and extremely joyful ride.

I will be in a theatre on May 2nd 2008.

    Looks absolutely awesome.

But is anyone else noticing how many movies have a “calm character walking away without even flinching from an explosion in the background” shot?

I don’t care who you are, you would at least jump a little if a huge bomb blew up behind you.

    holyt fucking shit!
thats the best Ironman trailer ive seen yet!

who sings the lyrics “gotta save yourself takin on me” in the trailer

  • 7. Kristina replies at 28th February 2008, 8:18 pm :

    THAT is a goddamn trailer.

And how funny and charismatic is Downey looking in this, huh? The “good God, you’re a woman” line was priceless. I’ve really fallen in love with Downey over the past few years. He’s the best thing about Charlie Bartlett, and if you haven’t seen Kiss Kiss Bang Bang yet, you REALLY need to. A good friend recommended it to me, and I ADORED it. He’s quickly becoming one of my fav actors, and I’m so happy that he seems to have gotten his life together so that we can enjoy his tremendous talent. Sounds weird to say this about someone that I don’t know, but I’m proud of the guy for licking that addiction. Not an easy thing to do.

Very good trailer, I can feel the awsomeness of this movie now.

  • 12. jacky replies at 28th February 2008, 9:22 pm :

no, i think Iron Man seems like a real asshole/jerk in these trailers, not charismatic at all. I wasn’t wowed by this trailer either, there’s nothing that is really super amazing in it. And it looks like the scope of the movie doesn’t seem very epic either. The CGI and explosions were’t impressive either. Everything has a very fake look to it, esp that last scene where he fires a missle at the tank.

  • 13. spagett replies at 28th February 2008, 9:31 pm :

doesn’t grab my attention like the Dark Knight trailer with Ledger’s laugh and creepiness. I know this is a different sort of superhero movie but I get the Fantastic Four/ Ghost Rider sort of vibe from it which is a very bad thing.
Still looking forward to the Hulk trailer (if they ever release one).

  • 14. AjaxLou replies at 28th February 2008, 9:32 pm :

The Ironman team is throwing gold our way. I hope they save some for the movie! My anticipation continues to be ratcheted up.

    Bring it on!

  • 15. DnT replies at 28th February 2008, 9:49 pm :

The only thing that I had a problem with is how fake it looks when he is in the armor without a helmet on. It looks like they just pasted his head on.

My jaw just hit the floor. I liked Iron Man comics as a kid, but this just blows away my expectations.

No words no matter how elegant would suffice to articulate how freakin amazing this trailer is all I saw is WOW. Iron Man is going to be a film to reckon with.

wow…the incredible hulk trailer is going to have a hard time following that..

    that looks fucking awesome.

iI can’t believe I am saying this but it now has me more amped than the dark knight.

but tyhat smainly due top the fact that my dark knight excitement has been tempered somewhat but the bummer vibe that may potentially hang over any future footage…

    anyway…fucking great.

  • 20. Ezell replies at 28th February 2008, 10:48 pm :

yea i think that will be up there with 007 and Dark Knight for me holy shit

  • 21. jacky replies at 28th February 2008, 10:54 pm :

I think everything in that trailer looks really fake, the explosions, the tank, the iron man costume. I hope that isn’t all the set pieces that’s in the movie. I’m not impressed.

  • 22. Wade replies at 28th February 2008, 11:15 pm :

I’m sorry, but all I’m still seeing is just action, cgi, silly drama and silly lines. No sign of a good movie.

    Man, it’s great!
Stark misbehaves a lot, though he usually lack some sense of humor.
I think the only flaw was the bunch of different musics, it should be all Black Sabbath…
I’m dying to see this movie!

  • 25. clone_tk422 replies at 28th February 2008, 11:51 pm :

    Fucken A!

I know you have mentioned John that the comic book for this character has never interested you but the movie looks awesome!!

Does that mean the comic book for Ironman isnt all that great? But they have made a good movie adaption out of it?

Bit of a reverse situation there where like spiderman 3, good comic, bad movie adaptation

  • 26. Phil Gee replies at 29th February 2008, 12:34 am :

The thing that’s exciting me most is getting to see Jeff Bridges in robotic body armour. I’m there!

  • 27. Bobby replies at 29th February 2008, 12:45 am :

All I can say is… Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fake my ass… What the hell are you looking for??? Right… like there’s a real “Iron Man” out there with
a suit that does the things we saw on the trailer…???
Are you kidding me??? How about just going to the movie
and enjoying it for what it is… Fucking Entertainment!!!

If you want real, then stay home and stare at the wall for 2 hours. Don’t bother going to the theater… trust me, you won’t be missed!!! I guarantee it!!!

Again I say… The trailer looks Fuckin Awesome!!!!!!!
    Bring it on “Iron Man”!!!!

A-FUCKIN-MEN, BOBBY!!! A-FUCKIN-MEN!!! That had to have been one of the most exciting trailers I have seen for a movie in a long time. Don’t get me wrong; the Dark Knight trailer got me pumped in ways I can’t even voice, BUT this trailer has that fun, action packed, full of pure entertainment and excitment….THING about it.

    DAMN! I CAN’T WAIT!!!

  • 29. james replies at 29th February 2008, 1:13 am :

    cant fuckin wait baby!!!

  • 30. cak replies at 29th February 2008, 1:50 am :

If only the people who direct trailers were allowed to direct a movie, that would be a good movie. This looks like a good movie, but we all know it is going to be crap, they always are.

I can take the suit, I can even take him being able to fly, but that tiny little missile blowing up a tank…COME ON PEOPLE!!!

  • 31. Mozzerino replies at 29th February 2008, 2:37 am :

It’s funny how much better the last shot of Iron Man blasting the Tank looks in this trailer. The same scene was in the Super Bowl trailer and looked very different then.

  • 32. Omar replies at 29th February 2008, 2:42 am :

Oooooohhhhhh yeaaaaah! Now that’s a fucking superhero trailer.

  • 33. takata replies at 29th February 2008, 2:54 am :

    HOOOLYYYY SHIIIITTTTYYYYTY!
    Awesome trailer.
combine this with The dark knight and (with the help of the gods)hulk this year will be my return to the day by day movie theater marathon!!!
    common may get it faster!!!!

  • 34. takata replies at 29th February 2008, 2:59 am :

    OHHH
And Downey is passing to me the same vibe i got when i saw Ledger s joker.
    PERFECT TRANSLATION!

  • 35. jacky replies at 29th February 2008, 3:24 am :

yes, Mozzerino, in the super bowl ads the tank scene look very computer animated. It looks like they improved it since then, added more detail and stuff. But I still think it looks fake beyond hell. Everything in this movie seems fake to me, EVEN the explosions look computer animated and CGI.

  • 36. Gary replies at 29th February 2008, 3:31 am :

Ironman’s looking good. I have to admit judging by the first trailer I wasn’t all that inspired to see the movie, now though it could be up with the Dark Knight for this summers big blockbuster.

  • 37. Steven Carroll replies at 29th February 2008, 4:07 am :

  • 39. Bishop replies at 29th February 2008, 7:19 am :

Ok I know this may make me more unpopular that that fat red headed kid with glasses back in grade school … oh wait a sec … nevermind that.

The fact is I do NOT believe this was an amazing trailer. I thought the last one was WAYYYY better. This one FELT way too long and I almost feel like it showed me too much.

Don’t get me wrong. I have an Iron Boner for the Iron Man movie. I may even skip out of work to go catch it.

    BUT

If I can separate my excitement over the movie and my excitement over the trailer (which is very difficult to do) I have to say what I did about it.

  • 40. Butter On My Popcorn replies at 29th February 2008, 7:19 am :

Its doomed. I just noticed they gave Iron Man the ability to open up his mask whenever so Downey Jr. can get more screen time….Sound Familar.

  • 41. Kevin C replies at 29th February 2008, 7:37 am :

I really like the “inside-helmet-cam” shots. Its a clever solution for the not being able to see the heroes face, thing

As if I wasn’t anticipating this movie enough.

Its just setting itself as one of the few that are lucky enough to get me to actually go to the theater to see it.

  • 45. T-Vo replies at 29th February 2008, 9:24 am :

A little nugget for you fanboys. The computer that Tony Stark says throw a little red in has a name. The name is Jarvis! Avengers anyone??

  • 46. Ransom replies at 29th February 2008, 11:35 am :

Wow. All I have to say to the folks who didn’t like the trailer is that obviously the superhero genre isn’t for you. If you didn’t like this trailer then I promise you that this is not the right site for you…

Downey shines as Tony Stark. His charisma and talent really come through in the trailer.

This is one of those movies that you just know is going to be awesome. Favreau has stepped it up a notch. Anyone who worked on the Spiderman sequels should watch this one and take notes. I wouldn’t be surprised if I end up liking Iron Man more than TDK.

  • 47. jordan replies at 29th February 2008, 11:44 am :

this movie coud not look more sweet can’t weight to see it but i wish they has shoen Nick Fury in the trailer so we coud have had a taste of him

  • 49. Bishop replies at 29th February 2008, 12:41 pm :

I am not saying anything bad about the movie at all. The movie looks amazing. I am saying the trailer ITSELF is NOT as good as the previous one.

  • 50. Scott replies at 29th February 2008, 6:15 pm :

Interesting to see the parallels betweeen the character and the actor. Both are alcoholic playboys…
