Knight Rider TV Movie is Here

The time is upon us retro movie geeks. The Knight Rider TV Movie airs tonight.

It might just suck balls, and the retro purists will hate the voice (Val Kilmer digitized) and the car not being a TransAm, but we will have to see. If this actually gets good reviews, rumour has it they will base an ongoing TV Series on it.

Check your local listings.

And in case you missed the teaser trailer:

just why? Such a stupid concept. I’ll avoid this one, thank you for informing me of this incoming bomb.

Remakes are rarely good, but lets hold off slagging it until it comes out. It may surprise us.

People said the same thing about a next generation of Star Trek and it became more popular than the first series.

seen all the clips on movieweb…I can’t believe the acting and dialog could be so worse. did the mayor of hiroshima direct this tv movie?

  • 4. James replies at 17th February 2008, 4:42 pm :

I think you should replace ‘good reviews’ with ‘good ratings’. That’s all NBC is going to pay attention to when it comes to deciding if they go forward with a series.

    true crags

How bout we talk about a good show instead. “Breaking Bad” is on its 4th episode tonight at 10 EST. It is a very very good show.

Sadly it is on the same time as Dexter on CBS. Another show I wanted to watch (I don’t have showtime or whatever it airs on). I’ll probably watch Dexter and then Breaking Bad has an encore right after it airs at 11 EST.

Very poorly written…don’t know if it was aimed at children or drooling morons. I would assume the latter since in the first five minutes our heroes were engaged in a threesome and a homosexual relationship.

Also, nanotechnology does not explain the blatant disregard for the laws of physics (energy would have caused K.I.T.T. to skid during the final collision).

just saw it- horrible. goddammit. no comment.

    utter crap.

  • 16. Ricochet replies at 17th February 2008, 10:39 pm :

It’s not a remake it was a continuation and IMO thats the only way that they could have made it that it wouldn’t be bad but it is because they went with awful cheesy writing and whatnot and then they wonder why these projects suck ass.

It just pisses me off that they continually spend money on these shows that suck and they just go out and pick up more garbage and stay in that vicious cycle instead of giving quality written shows a chance like Journeyman.

Fuck you NBC. Fuck you for trying to pass on shit like Night Rider.

Crags, what makes you think that we only “endorse” crappy productions?

Maybe you need to visit this site more often.

  • 18. Gary replies at 18th February 2008, 4:11 am :

Oh no! why have they made this into a movie the TV show was mediocre at the best of times. Please tell me it dosn’t have David Hasselhoff behind the wheel that would be just to much, think I’ll give this one a miss, though I’ve got to admit it’s a nice car.

  • 19. Hamid replies at 18th February 2008, 5:36 am :

I just hope they don’t stuff it with hip-hop/pop culture references, which is what is done in every lazy redux of an old TV show or in shit like Meet The Spartans. We really don’t want “a shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a badass mo’fo” with a rapper sidekick who says “that was whack” every two minutes.

  • 20. Garfy99 replies at 18th February 2008, 8:35 am :

This new movie/future series was absolutely craptastic, it had nothing to do with the original what-so-ever, the characters were boring, the acting was terrible. Then of course there’s the new KITT, what can I say; except stupid concept, I was more than willing to except a Mustang but the cockpit was uninspired, and Val Kilmer as the voice almost made me vomit.
They must have paid both Hasselhoff and Kilmer in alcohol to even participate in this train wreck, the only person who is laughing their ass off, is Glen Larson, maybe just maybe his vision of a big screen adaption of the original show will come to light; and to justice for the fans, but then we could end up with worse then what we all saw on TV on Sunday night!!!!!

lets hear the site’s opinion of knight rider then rod

  • 22. Rodney replies at 18th February 2008, 10:29 am :

Crags, it is still on my PVR. I have yet to watch it. Which also means I am reserving judgment on it.

You still have yet to answer my question. What makes you think that we only “endorse” crappy productions?

Is your entire basis going to be that you hate Transformers and we all seem to have found enjoyment in it?

  • 23. James replies at 18th February 2008, 10:45 am :

Here is a deleted scene left out of last night’s airing, as you can tell by the unpolished CGI:
