Mr. Brooks DVD Comes October 23rd

Say all you want about Kevin Costner (I’ve said a lot about him myself), Mr. Brooks knocked it out of the frigging park. This movie seems to polarize both critics and fans. You either love it or hate it. The wise LOVE IT.

No, but seriously folks, Mr. Brooks to me is the hidden gem of 2007. I walked into the theater to see this puppy at a matinee because I didn’t care enough about it to see it any other time. I mean come on… it’s Keven Costner for heaven’s sake. Who cares? But man I was blown away. Best performance of Costner’s career… the chemistry between him and William Hurt was phenomenal, the story was tight, the pace was great… many disagree, but personally, I think an arguement could be made that it’s one of the best films of the year.

Anyway, the DVD has been scheduled for release on October 23rd, and it’s one of those rare discs that I’ll be picking up the day it comes out. If you haven’t seen this film (not a lot of people did), treat yourself to a very rare thing… a great performance by Kevin Costner… it doesn’t happen often folks so catch it while you can.

Idk bout this one, it has a 56% on rottentomatoes with 74 critics liking it and 58 not liking it. With a 45 out of 100 on metacritic.

Its just not convincing to see this movie.

I suppose this is a great example of the subjectivity of film. For me, this was probably the worst movie i’ve seen in about ten years. I gave it a 0 out of 4 in my review.

    You gotta love the movies.

The movie is great. Also, if you listen carefully, you will find it has some greatest soundtrack (not songs).

I think Costner has done some great work, but I avoided this because of William Hurt. I can barely understand what this mumbling Method man is saying half the time.

Great movie indeed, alongside “1408″ and “London To Brighton” the films of the year so far.

I wanted to watch this movie in the theatre, but it played for less than two weeks here and “poof” - no more Mr. Brooks. Hell, Daddy Day Camp lasted longer… For shame!

I loved this movie. Everything clicked on just about every level. Hell, even Dane Cook was good.
