Rogue gets a release date

Two of the most exciting action stars today in film have to be Jason Statham and Jet Li. Each of them is amazing to watch in their own way. Statham is just as badass and fearless as they come, and Jet Li has the grace and speed of martial arts that make him look untouchable.

Either one of them in a movie is just solid gold. So when it was announced that Rogue would star BOTH of them, I nearly wet myself. Now we have an update about Rogue’s release

MovieNews says:

Lionsgate Films just set a release date for the new action movie “Rogue”, starring Jet Li and Jason Statham. Some sites say that the movie has been renamed to “War”, but as long as the studio still lists it as “Rogue” we will too. But now for the release date. Lionsgate plans to bring the movie to cinemas September 14th, 2007. After his partner Tom Wynne (Terry Chen) and family are killed apparently by the infamous and elusive assassin Rogue (Li), FBI agent Jack Crawford (Statham) becomes obsessed with revenge as his world unravels into a vortex of guilt and betrayal.

Oh I cant wait that long!! I want this movie NOW!

Ok, finish the movie. I dont need it right now… there are bigger movies on my want list, but this just inched its way up near the top for me.

If you haven’t seen Crank yet, you have to. But go pee first, you wont want to miss a minute, or pee yourself.

I wasn’t all that impressed with Crank, but I really dug the Transporter movies, (especially 2), so I’m looking forward to this match up.

Side note: Statham’s charater’s name is Jack Crawford, and he’s and FBI agent? Come on, folks, show some originality. FBI agent Jack Crawford was Wil Graham’s boss in Manhunter/Red Dragon, played by Dennis Farina and Harvey Keitel, respectively.

    Yep,
This is really high on my “cant Wait” list too.

Statham is always great as is Jet Li, and with him playing the cold assassin again…
Ive been gettin’ goosebumps for this one since it was first announced.

this has the potential for greatness. if jet li and statham have a fight seem i will have an erection. he was good in transporter and would have been a great wolverine. but crank was overrated by john, sloppy, and pretty corny. i really wanted to like it but i felt pretty let down. cant wait…

    peace….

    @sideshow:
Don’t forget Scott Glenn in ‘Silence Of The Lambs.

I am also looking forward to this movie, as we didn’t get a Jet Li-Jason Statham throwdown in “The One”, which, despite the premise, was a piece of turkey.

I like Jason in most the films he’s in- even the one minute walk on roles (hey, if someone does a sequel for ‘Collateral’…) but Crank was overrated by those at The Movie Blog, among other places.

    Fool me once…

Crank was great… you just needed to be aware of what you were in for

Amazing news. Crank was awsome and Statham was one of the best parts about Snatch. And I’ve been a fan of Li’s for years now. To have them both in the same movie is a dream come true enuff. BUT, to have Statham as the main hero and Li as a villain again after all these years, as a badass assain, AND the movie is coing out this year, and just before my birthday…? YYYYEEEESSSS!!!! FUCK YA!

    Can’t freakin’ wait..! :D

Two lads I can hardly wait to see together doing…stuff…

So long as there arent any Orbital helicopters and 5 minute phone messages while falling massive distances…

    Im there!

Statham has really shown he can stand out as an action star, and I think that Jet Li might be able to break into the action genre also with this…bwahahaha

Awesome lineup, awesome premise, Im lovin’ it already
