American Summer will star Lillard and Ramirez

Matthew Lillard and Elfren Ramirez have picked up the leading roles in the new comedy American Summer. The good people over at yahoo.com give us more:

Matthew Lillard and “Napoleon Dynamite” hero Efren Ramirez are set to bask in “American Summer,” a comedy about a pool boy and gardener who take over a Beverly Hills mansion and become neighborhood pimps

.Lillard plays a pool boy who has managed to convince his parents he’s attending Harvard. After his apartment complex undergoes termite fumigation, he moves with a pretty escort/neighbor and a young friend into an empty mansion where he works and soon stumbles into the world’s oldest profession. Ramirez plays the next-door gardener called in as “the muscle” of the operation.

This movie should be called “every guy’s dream” a deadbeat gets to move into a Beverly Hills mansion with a hot call girl? Yeah…only in the movies my friends. It almost sounds like an update of Risky Business, young men becoming pimps, wiser pretty women showing them the ways of the trade. Unfortunately I have a feeling that it will more likely end up like Dude, Where’s My Car?

The chances of this movie being good are slim, but then again I guess it depends on what your definition of a movie is. Lillard and Ramirez are fine actors, there will be laughs, hot girls, maybe even some funny dialogue (hope, hope) and everything will be ok at the end.

I’ve changed my mind, this movie could make a good popcorn flick.

Interesting ideas… I wonder how the Hollywood media would portray this?

However the Hollywood Media would portray this, I hope it looks as good a Sheena Lee, Patricia De Leon, Simona Fusco and Rachelle Lefevre do in the film, because, Harvard here I come. If Harvard wants to increase their submissions, just screen this. And it’s now On Demand!

I found the Pool Boys movie On Demand last night. My roomies and I had a bbq/Pool Boys movie night. We all died laughing! The laughs were endless, Mathew Lillard and Brett Davern were classic together!! Heard of Sheena Lee?? She is my new dream girl!!

This film is opening on Sept. 30, and I say go see it. Yes, it’s not CITIZEN KANE, but it doesn’t pretend to be. What everyone likes to say is that this is just a RISKY BUSINESS retread. If that is so, then RISKY was a NIGHT SHIFT retread. All films explore similar themes, and POOL BOYS is no different. The laughs come frequently and there are some damn good performances by Matt Lillard and Rachelle Lefevre, with a number of funny supporting performances by John Billingsley, George Takei and Tom Arnold. Crazy, frantic and over-the-top fun. And, of course, many a lovely lady. Check it out.

The LA Premiere of “The Pool Boys” happened last night. The audience loved it. Matthew Lillard was wonderful with his dry, witty humor. Tom Arnold playing a tabloid version of himself was outrageous and the cameo appearance of George Takai was hilarious!

There are also the babes from Playboy, Sheena Lee and Simone Fusco to offset the class and intelligent humor of Rachelle Lefevre. All around a wonderful fun film.

    • Rick Blaine says:

What a great time the premiere was! Wow! To hear the audience roar with laughter like that was amazing! So great to be in a theater with that kind of response. And so many hot babes! But THE POOL BOYS certainly has more than its share.

Such a super funny film! Rachelle Lefevre is so awesome! She’s now on CBS’s A GIFTED MAN, but here in THE POOL BOYS, she’s beyond sexy.

Be sure to catch the film ON DEMAND. Playing now. And check out the POOL BOYS Facebook page.

What are your plans for Halloween? Doing something scary? Well, after that, you will most definitely need to put a smile on your face, to dispel that fear and anxiety. Watching the funniest film of the year, should do it.

Just pull up Movies On Demand, bring over your friends, and have a blast.

Check out the incredible photos from the Red Carpet Hollywood Premiere!

I would love to have a Halloween party along the lines of the party at the end of The Pool Boys! That would be epic. Something to shoot for. I’m going to agree with you, when you say this is the funniest film of the year. I haven’t seen everything there is to see out there yet, but The Pool Boys will definitely be at the top of the list. I’m still thinking about some of the more hilarious scenes in this movie. Awesome!
