New The Prestige Trailer - Big Step Down

The-Prestige trailerWow… if you ever doubted the power of editing, let this new trailer for The Prestige remove all doubt from your mind. The first trailer for The Prestige was just AMAZING. Powerful, intriguing and grabbed your attention by the throat and didn’t let go until it was over. Brilliant.

But now, a new trailer is out… and honestly if I had seen this trailer first I doubt I’d even be looking forward to the movie at all. Just inferior in every way.

But the funny part is that the two trailers have almost ALL OF THE SAME FOOTAGE in them… they’re just edited differently… and the second crappy trailer has an annoying announcer in it. What a waste. Folks, just pretend this new trailer doesn’t exist and we’ll all be happier for it.

If you want to take a peek at the new Prestige trailer you can just go here.

What’s even worse, that stupid voicover reads text from the screen. Look, I can read myself, alright?

Yeah, it’s a bad trailer, but my anticipation is not hurt any. I’m still positive it’ll be a good movie.

Good point. Makes a helluva difference. A good trailer can make all the difference in the world. ‘Mickey Blue Eyes’ is a good example. Great trailer - average movie. Let’s hope The Prestige rises above the standard set by trailer number 2.

That friggin’ Trailer Voice Guy ruins it.

Christian Bale and Michael Cane together outside of Batman? Nice! And joined by Hugh Jackman and Scarlett Johansson? YA BABY!!! Can’t wait for the movie.

Never could get that stupid new trailer to work, but after reading your comments, probably for the best!

I didnt HATE the ‘new’ trailer, but i was indeed far inferior.

They probably made it to appease the mass of illiterate morons out there who “didnt understand” the 1st trailer…’WAIT! you mean you had to read the screen?!?! Man, that moovie sucks…” “Them words were flashin’ round way to fast to read! i aint no Eininstain!”

The ONLY thing wrong with this trailer is the voice-over. Everything else still looks great. If you took out all of the voice-over guy (who sounds like he’s over-acting more than a Captain Kirk impersonator), it would be just as good as the first trailer.

That was some Bullshit, The first time I saw The Prestige Trailer I got hard instantly. It was awesome Wolverine vs. Batman in an all out magical battle for supremacy. Plus Scarlett Johansson is such a hottie. Then I just saw that lame ass trailer and that almost made me wanna go see The Illusionist. Not that I won’t see The Illusionist c’mon its has Ed Norton, Paul Giamatti, Jessica Biel and Rufus Sewell that’s a great cast; the problem is The Prestige looks more dark, drank and gothic in other words badass where as The Illusionist looks more like a lame love story involving Jessica Biel’s remarkable body being covered up for half the film. In summation go see The Prestige and don’t watch that horrible horrible horrible trailer.
