Fox Fixes Teen Choice Awards
We all know the Teen Choice awards are a total joke. But I at least thought it was an HONEST joke. You know, voted on by the fans and so forth. Well Nord just left this comment in the Hollywood Movie Awards Post and I thought it was worth posting up here. Take a look:
I was watching the Teen Choice awards a few weeks back (Im a Dane Cook fan and he was hosting, stop laughing) And thankfully I have a PVR and I was able to pause the quick disclaimer tossed on the screen in the final moments and it read as follows (paraphrased)“All winners were voted on by the public and FOX executives picked the winner from the top 4 vote getters.”
What the hell?!?! Did I read that right? Did Nord read that right? If anyone has the actual official disclaimer and the wording of it from the Teen Choice Awards show please copy and paste it into the comments section. I’d love to know if this is REALLY true.
Holy crap, we all know Fox is a twisted bunch, but I didn’t realize they were also corrupt. Yikes!

Teen Choice Awards Terms of Voting:
1) You can only vote in the 2005 Teen Choice Awards using the Official Ballot.
2) To vote, make one choice per category.
3) You must be between the ages of 13 and 19 as of May 20, 2005.
4) You must fill in your email address for your vote to count.
5) Only one ballot per email address will be accepted. If multiple entries are received, only the first will be eligible. Multiple entries or entries generated by a script, macro or other automated means will be disqualified.
6) Winner will be chosen from among the top four vote getters in each category by a committee of Teen People, Teenasaurus Rox, Bob Bain Productions and FOX representatives.
7) Employees of Teen People, FOX Broadcasting Company, Teenasaurus Rox, and Bob Bain Productions, Inc., their affiliated companies, promotional partners and ad agencies, and their immediate families are not eligible to vote. All information collected from you is being collected by Teen People.
The TEEN PEOPLE Summer Music special issue, on sale June 3, 2005, contained a sample ballot for this year’s Teen Choice Awards. There was a typo on the ballot for the Choice Hottie: Female category. The official ballot, here online, has the correct list of nominees. We apologize for any confusion.

I never cared about this award show, so this news doesn’t effect me.
If the Oscars was like that, would you get angry? Say if we found out the Oscar winners get to be voted by Disney executives, would you get angry about it? and so that means everything in years past was a total scam.

I am sure they call the top 4 vote getters and see which one can attend and accept the award. Have you noticed it is usually just the winner that is there. Seriously, why would you show up to that stupid awards show if you were not guarenteed a win.
Unless you are a no talent comdy hack who got to host the show w/ the hot co-star of your upcoming movie flop.

I admit, Dane Cook isn’t a comedy genius, but I tell ya, a joke is %90 delivery, and the man knows how to deliver a joke. Seriously, if you havent already heard it, you NEED to listen to Dane Cooks “Retaliation” its comedy GOLD.
