Hey there, and welcome to yet another installment of The Movie Blog Audio Edition coming to you from the Movie Blog studios in beautiful Ontario Canada.

For those of you who may not yet know, this is the Mail Bag installment of the show. This is basically the show where we get a little more interactive and give you some behind the scenes stuff here at The Movie Blog while also answering your question that you send in to us via email or throught the comments section. It’s fun for the whole stinking family.

Today’s show has no AUDIO questions… because I forgot my portable hard drive somewhere and I had put all the audio question on it. Oppps. So it’s just email questions today, but that filne. Had to cut it a little short cause I’m running late, but sit back, relax and enjoy this installment of the Mail Bag! You can download the Mail Bag by just clicking here.

On the first question in this edition. Iklipz? Don’t know their policies

I would def check out Lost. I’ve watched both seasons and trust me you’ll get hooked after a few episodes.

Yeah it sucks about youtube. I made a short little film and now I have to split it into 3 or 4 parts >:(

I would also love to see Carnage. Maybe at the end of SM3 Eddie is being put into the jail cell and Cassidy is his cell mate or something, it would be a nice lead up to the next movie.

I think a lot people get turned off with subtitles because they want to go into a movie to relax, but the person knows they will have to concentrate more on watching the film, basically some people are to lazy to read them.

    Regarding LOST.

    John, GOOD idea.

Just to reinforce what you already said, DO NOT jump into Lost in the middle. It would ruin so many things! But rent this soon. It is quite possibly the best TV show I’ve ever seen. Great characterization, amazing storyline and terrific mystery and intrigue. You won’t be let down I don’t think.

P.S. - Memoirs of a Geisha was ruined because it was in English

It’s funny. I thought the trailer for “The Others” was great. It got me into the theatre. What’s funny? I hated the movie. I couldn’t understand what was so big about the “twist”, which the only mystery for me was how they would explain it not how it is revealed [I figured it out in the film's first ten minutes- I thought it was more than obvious, and, yes, I didn't give a hoodwink about Nicole Kidman in that film]

Now, there was a trailer I had seen which didn’t look that great, and so I avoided that film until earlier this week -”The Four Feathers” with Heath Ledger. I was surprised on how well I actually enjoyed the film. I also detest studios who “give away the farm” in movie trailers -”Hart’s War” [Bruce Willis, Colin Farrell] comes to mind. I mean y’know, leave that stuff to Corman or Band…when you see the B action film, main villian in the heliocopter…the bird blows up…[or 'Under Siege 2' where you see Steven Segal escape the crashing train]

    …Mr & Mrs Smith.

That third act was horrid alright. So horrid that…well, did you understand it, John?
I sure as heck didn’t. The supermall shoot up was choas and I was lost.

    Spider-Man villian #4
Still speculation on this, but more and more i just say ‘save Rhino/Kraven/Electro or the LIZARD whoever for #4 [and there will be #4- does a bear shit in the woods?] because with Harry Goblin, Sandman and Venom, that’s enough of a packed punch.
And Carnage…no. Not until Venom gets his spinoff flick Lethal Protector, anyway…

Hey John this is off the topic but video games have had one hell of a week. Between TGS and Xo5 this week has been 10x better then E3. Anyay regarding Halo I want it to be so good, so good. After what I just saw I now believe that live-action is a horrible decision when then the way is should be done is right infront of our faces. if you go over to http://www.xbox.com or http://www.gametrailers.com or any other game site watch the new trailer for a new game elegadly an RTS called HALO WARS. I fainted after seeing this thing it is out of this world and yet simple. There is almost no music and the spartan voice at the end isn’t good but just look at it. That is the HALO movie that is what the film should be. I also recommand a new video that has Peter Jackson talking about an untitled halo project. I believe it would also be groundbreaking at least in North America because how many adult animated features are there almost none and none in wide release. If they do the hardcor Halo film in animated form it could be a breakthrew and hopefully we could get some others like that. The only one that attempted this so far was Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. I would really love your thought on this but before you answer please watch the video thank you and great job on the mail bag audition.

  6. Black Steven says:

Be careful with Lost, John. It’s like being in an abusive relationship. It’ll seduce you with it’s character writing, draw you in with the subtle nerdiness of it’s mystery, and then it’ll bust you in your chops and refuse to answer any of your questions. For two years!

I love that show but I hate that show. I wish I could quit you, Lost…

  7. Henrik says:

Weren’t you the one who was puzzled with the fact that they avoided ‘the’ in Hulk and Incredible Hulk?

Maybe experience has taught you answers young John. Feel free to share too.

  10. Glasseyerod says:

Subtitled movies: I get a kick out of movies where the characters are supposed to be speaking a non-English language, but rather than subtitle it they do speak English with the accent of the language they are supposed to be speaking. K-19 the Widow Maker come to mind especially since only some of the “Russians” who are speaking English actually have the Russian accent.
