Fantastic Four 2 Plot?
A couple of places around the web are reporting that the plot synopsis for Fantastic Four 2 has been released. I personally can neither confirm nor deny the authenticity of this… but several other sites out there that I respect are saying it is. So there you go.
The good folks over at Canmag gives us this outline of the plot:
Marvel’s first family of superheroes, The Fantastic Four, meets their greatest challenge yet in Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer as the enigmatic, intergalactic herald, The Silver Surfer, comes to Earth to prepare it for destruction. As the Silver Surfer races around the globe wreaking havoc, Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben must unravel the mystery of the Silver Surfer and confront the surprising return of their mortal enemy, Dr. Doom, before all hope is lost.
Ok, now let’s just assume for a moment that this is all legit. To me, that’s a pretty solid sounding basis for the next Fantastic Four film. Now, we already know what the “secret” of the Silver Surfer is (Galactus), but seeing a Silver Surfer on screen is going to be pretty damn cool… as long as they can figure out a way to make sure he doesn’t just look sorta silly on screen (I mean come on… you have to admit the POTENTIAL for high cheese is there when the dude is called “The SIlver Surfer” and flies around on a cosmic surf board).
Also, it looks like the studio heard everyone complaining about the title “Fantastic Four: The Next Chapter” and have apparently changed the name to “Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer”.

I would prefer the Silver Surfer to get his own movie.
Given how cheesy the first FF4 is I am really concerned how much
damage they would do to the SS character. You have to walk a fine line here because of his appearance and mode of travel. Based on how the FF4 was handled, SS can turn out to be a bad unintentional joke.

After seeing the trailer for Spiderman 3, I thought to myself how nice it was, just Spiderman and the number 3, clean and neat, and I thought all comic book movies should be that way.
BUT
Ive had a change of heart, I dont know what it is, but I really like Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer….it rolls off the tongue nicely.
And people will probably kill me for saying this but I hope Keeanu Reeves is the Silver Surfer, I really really do, and I dont even know why, I think maybe I dreamed it once so it just seems familiar to me….

I don’t think they’ll be able to get a known actor to latch on to this franchise, after the first one was so hated.
I’d expect an unknown to play Silver Surfer.

Nord, maybe your dream of Keeanu as the Silver Surfer has to do with Point Break, his fbi/surfing movie?
I really did not like the first F4 movie. The only character I cared about was the the Thing. In a weird way, he was the only character I could relate to. The Flaming Torch was a cocky, douchebag, who doesn’t even tone down at the end. Inivisible Girl was hot, but thats all I can say about her.
Not saying that I won’t give the sequel a chance. I could end up liking the sequel…but chances are minimal.
But I kinda like the title “Fantastic 4 and the Silver Surfer”..it’s kinda B-movieish.

I hear what your saying Henrik, but on the other hand, if they want to give SS his own movie afterwards they might try to land a name. Kinda the way they tried to get a Nightstalkers movie by putting big names in small parts for Blade 3. Too bad that all dried up on the vine though cause a Nightstalkers movie would have been badass.

The title definitely sounds B-movie-ish but the plot sounds decent enough. Granted I didn’t see F4 but i’m interested to see how they handle Silver Surfer. Please don’t make him gay, please don’t make him gay, please don’t make him gay…. (join in with me, people)

A live action Silver Surfer should be cool. Just make sure he is just as strong as the Hulk and shoots enery blast like Goku.

Are you serious about them changing the title to that?????? Thats lame I perfer the next chapter.
As for the Sliver Surfer being in this movie, thats cool. This is going to look great. Galactus will look amazing.

I like Wentworth Miller for the silver surfer. The guy from prison break. I think he has the right face and build for the role. And since both F4 and P.B. are both FOX properties, it just makes sense.
Even though I really like the idea of Keanu as the Surfer, I just dont think it makes sense to get my hopes up for something that is probably not going to happen. I, unlike a lot of people out there, liked the first movie. It was really cheesy and fun. A good summer popcorn movie. I do, however, want more from the sequel. More character, more plot, more Torch and more bad ass-ery from one the greatest villians in all of comic-dom, Dr. Doom. Dont jump on me, Im by no means saying the first was great, but with the adition of the Surfer, it can only get better. peace

The first movie was a stinky cinematic abortion, a movie so unbelievably uninspired and soulless that it made me misty-eyed for the likes of Batman & Robin and Dolph Lundgren’s Punisher. That plot is cool enough to bump the sequel up to a “probably rent”. That said, it’s all the same dudes making it so it’s likely to be shite.
Better title, but still not a good one.

Keanu as the silver surfer? Not a bad choice? And Miller from Prison Break? That’s not bad too. Either would work for me.
Still don’t have much hopes for the sequel since the first movie was such a stinker. I like looking at Jessica Alba, but when she speaks I want jump of a bridge. Bad casting that is not going to get better.
The rest of the cast was cool, but if Tim story directs the sequel…well to me that does not bode well at all, even if the Surfer is going to be depicted on screen.
I think the movie is going to be another cheese fest at best. It’s not bad if you like cheese, but it would be nice to see some more meat in comic movies like spidey and batman.
Hollywood still has a tendency to chees comic movies out to much. I want to see something really cool. hopefully Supes returns will be that this summer.

They’ll need an extreme make-over to make this work. Keep the actors but help them by improving the script. Remove the stupid and clich√© jokes as well. Since Silver Server will be CG and bald you don’t need any particular actor to play. You should put an “and” for a second movie, it should be something more like “Fantastic Four: The Dawn of Mankind” or what ever is better… at least they’re not considering Fantastic Four 2
