‘Wind That Shakes Barley’ Wins at Cannes

The highest award and the most prestigious film festival in the world has been given out to “Wind That Shakes Barley“. Apparently it was so good that the 9 member jury, headed by Wong Kar-wai voted unanimously for the film. The good folks at Yahoo Movies give us this:

British director Ken Loach’s “The Wind That Shakes the Barley,” a saga set amid Ireland’s struggle for independence in the early 1920s, won top honors Sunday at the Cannes Film Festival.

The film stars Cillian Murphy, and I’ve been dying to see it ever since I heard about it a few months ago. Congratulation to Ken Loach!
