Transformers Set Pictures

Hey there Folks. Ok, here’s the deal… someone sent me these pics that are allegedly from the Transformers set in New Mexico. I can not confirm nor deny if they are 100% legit, but they do look for real. If they are indeed real… man that decepticon cop car looks FANTASTIC! Oh man I wanna see them transform!

**UPDATE** My friend Melt over at FIlmrot pointed out that there are larger versions of the pictures available here. Enjoy!

I wonder if Bay has made the call yet on whether to cast the original voice actors? Personally, i hope he’s keeping it under wraps that he has. Imagine if the first confirmation we get is during the teaser trailer where we hear Peter Cullen (voice of Optimus) say “Autobots…..transform and roll out”. There would be several fatalities from heart attack i think.

    Hey Phil,

Bay has announced that he is going to audition the surviving original voice actors… but that’s no guarantee that he’s going to use them. Voices can change over 20+ years.

    Cheers!

Hey John go look again, voices dont change much, and for transformers being millions of years old already, having mature sounding voices isnt too far fetched an idea, and look up their voices, there are tons of soundbytes with welker and cullen-

Its times like these when I hate to wait long. But in this case, it may be worth it.

IT’S MICHAEL BAY (action director) AND STEVEN SPIELBERG (GREAT director/producer) FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!!

  • 12. mogulus replies at 1st June 2006, 4:33 am :

this actually strikes me the right way, john…
…now I wonder if I’m going to wet myself after seeing those 2 ospreys being bashed or blown out of the air by a giant robot…or wet myself after seeing one of them transform INTO a giant robot.

    either way, i’m wet.

I can’t even begin to comprehend the sight of that tank and a Mac truck going at it hand to hand.

One must stand, one must fall . . .

Autobots are the cars (mostly) at first that was why they were called autobots.

Why is the decepticons getting a cop car.

Maybe i’m just to old for this movie.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. This movie WILL absolutely break the all-time highest grossing opening weekend EVER. Also, considering the level of buzz that is going on nearly a YEAR before release, (unless there is some sort of SERIOUS trainwreck during production) I’d put my money that this movie will come close to the all time grossing record, if not surpass it. These vehicles look ABSOLUTELY WICKED!

And the fact that they have been using REAL fighter jets, and REAL cars, and REAL tanks, as opposed to shooting everything on greenscreen, makes me VERY happy. If someone leaks pictures of practical transformer torsos for close up shots, i’ll wet myself.

And i agree with Phil Gee. If i hear the original Optimus Prime voice coming out of a giant live-action transformer. Holy. Shit.

Yeah, this thing is gonna be huge. No doubt.

The art direction so far, from what i can see, is totally spot on to what we all expect. This is VERY good news, as this is a movie where art direction could possibly ruin the whole thing.

I’m so confused by people’s reactions to this film. I mean, this is a new Michael Bay film we’re talking about, right? The Pearl Harbour guy. The Bad Boys II guy. The everything-he’s-ever-done-with-the-possible-exception-of-The-Rock guy. And now he’s making a big summer blockbuster-wannabe based on an old cartoon that was basically an extended ad for toys?

How can this possibly result in a watchable film?

Is all this excitement down to nostalgia? I liked Transformers when I was a kid, too, but how is this going to end up as anything but another hugely expensive Hollywood trainwreck?

Don’t mean to bring anyone down, but your advice is needed (I’m just a poor, stupid Englishman who doesn’t understand these things). Do people really think this film will be good, or are you just hoping against hope that Bay can do justice to something means so much to you?

Those pictures of the tanks look an aweful lot like the tanks used in the ice cude XXX picture. Am I wrong?

This film will rock, no doubt about it. The only concern I have about Micheal Bay directing (not a huge concern, btw) but after Bad Boys II and The Island, I hope there’s no highway scene with cars getting smoked at high speed (I’m a car nut, and go crazy everytime they destroy those precious things - lol).

With Dreamworks (I’m guessing that’s what it means when you talk about Spielburg being involved) producing it, you can bet your ass that the CGI effects will be abso-f*cking-lutely fantastic and seamless, you’ll shit yourself!

I hope they get as much of the main voices we grew up with, as the voices for this movie, especially Starscream (aka, Cobra Commander!). I just wanna hear him say “MEGATRON!” like the whiney little bitch he is! LOL. Having said that, if they go with new voices, where do I try out? Got me a couple voices that would go well. :D

P.S…GET MORE PICTURES!!!!!! Where’s the spies? Send them down to New Mexico already! LOL

Oh, and someone mentioned it about the Audio Blog for May 31st, but the car in the pic is a Mustang, probably a Saleen, and not a Charger. DECEIVING, isn’t it? LOL (Get my cheesy joke? haha).

Unfortunately, Starscream actor, Chris Latta died over a decade ago.

Oh man oh man. I used to get up extra early before school just so I could have my Star Scream action figure jack me off to the theme song. I’d go at it a couple of rounds till my nuts would get all tingly. Ah man this movie’s gonna be even better. YOU BETTER NOT FUCK THIS ONE UP BAY!

Some of you may not know but Deiselboy - a rather well known Drum N Bass DJ used Peter Cullen in a intro with a script that he (deiselboy) himself wrote for his CD “The Dungeon Master’s Guide”. Cullen was hired to speak & record the intro in a studio-this was in 2004. I’m happy to say Cullen still to this day sounds EXACTLY like the Prime we remember and love. Go check out the CD if you dont believe me.

Hey! steve, instead of telling us how bad of a movie this is going to be, why dont you go back to watching your cheap ass “doctor Who” show, choke on your cup of tea, and go weap in a corner about how weak british movies are as compared to movies made in America.
