Audio Edition - February 3rd 2006
Today on the Audio Edition Doug and I discuss the Razzie nominations and who we would choose to “win” each category, the best news of the week being THE DARK CRYSTAL 2, Rachel McAdams being up for the role of the next Bond girl instead of Thandie Newton, former Bond director Lee Tamahori dressing up in a wig and a dress and being arrested for prostitution (yes you read that right), Angelina Jolie in Sin City 2 and a few things more.

I have to disagree with you on Brokeback Mountain. It’s the best film I saw last year and it will win Best Picture, deservedly so.

Let’s not forget… Paul Verhoven showed up to accept his award for Showgirls at the Razzies.

…and the clueless Uwe know who Boll might attend this one!
But I also am sadly against the tide: I had NO PROBLEM wiith Katie Holmes in ‘Batman Begins’. None. Zippo. The only reason why the razzies went after her is because of the huge shadow of publicity with her new hubby Mr. Cruise. That’s also why Cruise was Razzied for ‘War’.
I’m slightly disappointed with the list this year. As I said before, I think they went after easy targets. I’ll ask once more: where is Ryan Reynolds for the Three Strikes and he’s out?
Charlize Theron for Aeon Flux?
Razzies haven’t been that brave this year; we all know Jessica Simpson and Pais Hilton aren’t actresses but are way overexposed. And J Lo? They (Razzies) love her. But it really is time to go after some new raw meat.
As for the director who thought he was gonna pick up Hugh Grant—hey, if you directed a piece of overproduced trash like XXX2 and your first film was Once Were Warriors, you, too, would be walkin’ the streets.
Get his butt back to New Zealand.

Haha John shouted out my comment that I left about Angelina. Now I feel special:)
But they have to get her for SinCity2. And TomKat will sweep the Razzies.

Quality arguement about Revenge of the Sith guys - I was cracking up.
I have to agree with Dougie on every issue raised though. Yoda jumping around like a frog with hot poker up its arse was a fucking joke. Especially when he spent most of the movie hobbling around on on his cane. Yoda’s power comes from his wisdom, strength of mind, and infinite goodness. The puppet figures did indeed manage to portray and elicit infinitely more emotion than the disgraceful drivel that is Revenge of the Sith could ever hope to.

Seeing Yoda fight was a pleasant surprise for me, honestly, but it doesn’t make sense that he’s been a badass for 400 years or however old he is, and in the time between Sith and Empire Strikes Back, he’s all of a sudden an old-ass puppet. Sorry, but no, doesn’t work for me.

john campea, you’re wrong. CGI Yoda sucks ass! CGI Yoda was nearly a cartoon to me. Do you agree CGI Yoda looked very artificial next to the humans?

Hmm, can’t make everyone happy but I didn’t mind the CGI Yoda…
Now, can anyone tell me if I’m missing something? What’s the fascination with Dark Crystal and The Transformers. Are you guys serious!? I’m not sure the age group you’re in to gauge how old you guys were when these things were around but I’m 36 and I don’t remember having any kind of interest in these things, though we share most other interests. In any case, when Transformers and DK and even Labyrinth were released I thought they were pretty “Kiddy”… obviously our opinions differ - any comments?
