Oh good grief. I don’t have to see this movie to know it’s stupid. But I won’t say it’s stupid until I do indeed see it (after all… I’ve been surprised before). However, the Big Momma’s House 2 reviews are now coming in… but a bunch of people who HAVE seen it… and you guessed it… they say it’s stupid.
I’ve always been up front about my opinion as far as Martin Lawrence goes. The man is a decent stand up comedian.. but he sucks in film. I’ve yet to see him in a single movie that made me say anything but “Why the hell is then guy in the movie business?!?!” But hey, that’s just my opinion.
So here come the Big Momma’s House 2 reviews and as I said earlier, they don’t look pretty:

As of this moment Big Momma’s House 2 has a pathetic 11% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. But come on folks… is anyone really surprised at all? Not me.

I for one enjoyed Big Momma’s House. It was stupid, but nowhere near as bad as Ice Cube’s “Next Friday”. One of those ones you need to be in the mood for. It came out when there were few comedies on. It seems to be a choice of white people gross out or fast talking black guy comedies these days. Why can’t we have a fast talking, hispanic gross out comedy?
Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB aren’t always good indicators of quality.
Ghosts of Mars got something like 6% on RT, but was absolutely awesome.
The score system on IMDB is very dodgy, I voted on a film which had only gotten around 3.7 with 13 votes, I gave it 10. The vote went down to 3.4 after 24 hours. WTF?
