  Okay, where to start?

  How ’bout here…

  1) The happy 100th podcast. Nice going. It’s just too bad this installment wasn’t as good as the others. In another hundred you can ask yourselves: why the hell did we talk about the possibilites of bringing Thor to the screen and why The Penguin from Batman isn’t a good translattion to the screen. Then you rightfully bitch about some razzies (which will, you say, get into more detail on Wed) and once again bitch about the one hit wonder Jon Header. But then Julia Ormond…which disappointed me.

  Let me elaborate:

  2) Of the FF villians, Puppet Master was under consideration, but I’m glad that Doom will come back more as Doom. Leave Galactus with the Silver Surfer- if they cannot tie SS and Galactus in with the FF. Note: SS would look killer on screen.

  Batvillians: Two-Face can work, maybe Ventriloquist, and on a personal note, I’d like to see Deadshot. But Penguin can work too.

  What’s wrong with Spidey’s villian Sandman? BTW- I DON’T think for a moment Venom will work. Kraven would. So would Electro without a ’star mask’ -shit, y’all want some freaking lightning…for that matter, if you do love your lightning, don’t ever diss Highlander ever again. Never. Never.

  Thor……………………..not in my lifetime. I’d rather see Iron Man or Namor another damn Howard The Duck remake/DTV sequel before I’d pay a nickel for a Thor film.

  I’d ask Keira out before Jessica. But then again I’d ask Andrea Parker, Ellen Pompeo and Kelly Hu out too. Hell with it. Ask them all out, I’ll step up to the home plate dammit.

  Now back to the FF. Great cast (-1) but I had mixed reactions to the film. Hey, John, don’t feel so bad if you got the FF DVD (hopefully the tin from Best Buy?) cause dammit, I got AMERICAN fuckin’ NINJA in my library. Stephen King’s ‘Graveyard Shift” too. Tim Burton’s “Planet Of The Apes”! Both the Dolph Lundgren AND Tom Jane ‘Punisher’s, so cheer up!

  I sort of recall Automan. Dezi Arnaz Jr, was in that alongside some male model witth the personality of a brick? I miss a few shows that never made it past a season, like “No Soap Radio”, “MAX HEADROOM” and…”The Pheonix” which had Judson Scott as this looney David Bowie Man Who Fell To Earth clone dude, who in one episode, changed a dying woman into a wild orchid and…oh, nevermind.

  Let’s just go right to Julia Ormond.

  What the hell are you talking about, John?

  Yeah, I thought she was great in ‘First Knight’ (actually liked Richard Gere in that, and Ben Cross to boot, go figure) and ‘Smilla’s Sense of Snow’. But…after ‘Snow’, most of her work has either been in TV miniseries (Beach Girls) or TV movies (Varian’s War), and one film she even did in Russia. In 2001 she was one of the judges at Cannes.

  Yes, she belongs on a big screen. But to say she’s disappeared until now —

  it’s like that old story:. Nobody thinks actors are still around when they do theatre or TV movies. But, c’mon, Campea! A little bit of checking before the podcast would not have killed you.

  Hey there Sealer,

  I didn’t elaborate in the Audio Edition, but in my post about Ormond, I mention that she “droped off the face of the earth as far as movies are concerned”. Yes, I know she did other things… but my point was wondering why she suddenly disappeared from the big screen when she was pretty much the Hollywood darling.

  I’m a long time fan of the movie blog. Love it.

  I am having trouble understanding why your podcasts are now so massive in size. I mean 45mb is a bit much. Anyone with dialup now has to leave it downloading overnight.

  Your podcasts are mono except the intro music (so there is half the file size) and it’s mainly speech that really doesn’t need 128kbps (64-96kbps would be fine). Even better would be an option of another format like OggVorbis or AAC/MP4 at 64kbps.

  Enough tech talk. I love the Movie Blog and I hope the Audio Editions don’t continue in their obesity.

  John, have your comments about the subjectivity of film (”Film is an art and therefore subjective”) answered your past debate about whether or not film is a business or an artform? Of course everybody knows that business plays a large role in the film industry, but it’s only the driving force for creating what is in the end, like it or not, subjective art.

  Why does downloading take so long? I have a cable connection and I can still only squeeze out 48KB/sec from the download. This is only recent though, like the past couple of weeks. You should fix it.

  Thank God that Doom is back I was really scared that they would just forget about him. I’m hoping that Doom gets a partner and can acutally make more than one fight scene. John you need to pick up The Ultimates trade paperbacks at a comic shup and read ‘em. Then you will agree that Thor can kick ass.

  Adrian Brody = Joker. Brody could be perfect for the Joker, tall, lanky, and Brody himself is a wonderful actor. I remember David Goyer saying that in the first sequel he would like to introduce the Joker as the villain and have Harvey Dent assume the new District Attorney position and have Batman and Dent team up and catch, not kill, the Joker as they did in the original. In the third film it would open with the Jokers trial and He would be the one to splash the acid on Dent’s face and turning him into Two-face. At least that is what I have heard or read somewhere. I think it’s a good idea as long as they have Joker kill Katie Holmes.
